Hilltop Road (State Route 3052) Repaving and Maintenance from the Week of May 13th through the Week of June 12th
From the Desk of George E. Macino:
Last year residents and visitors traveling along Hilltop Road (State Route 3052) may recall work being performed by Mele & Mele & Sons contracting along Hilltop Road. This year the work on Hilltop Road will continue for general road resurfacing and maintenance as determined by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). Set up, site prep, road base repairs, and milling work from Thoms Run Road to approximately 1000 feet past Forsythe Road will take place from the week of May 11th through the week of May 22nd, with road paving expecting to be completed by Friday, June 5th.
From Forsythe Road to Washington Pike, site prep, base repairs, and milling will be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances in road conditions. Mele & Mele & Sons will be revising the existing plan with PennDOT to address failures in the road and develop a comprehensive solution to reinforce the structural integrity of the road and ensure paving can proceed effectively. Due to these circumstances, roadworks will be halted for two weeks beginning June 4th. It is anticipated that the roadwork will continue for an additional two weeks when an updated project plan has been completed; currently, the date when the paving will fully completed and the road will resume regular operation is undetermined.
All milestones for completion are subject to weather conditions allowing the work to proceed as planned. Work is scheduled from Mondays through Fridays, with Saturdays reserved as potential working days for the contractor to remain on track with project completion in the event of weather complications.
