Allegheny County Public Works expects to pave Vanadium Road between the railroad tunnel and Bower Hill Road between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. all next week and possible a few days into the following week.

Work will occur in Scott Township, it is possible – based on the high traffic volume on Vanadium Road – that traffic might at times back up to Washington Pike. PennDOT is doing construction near the intersection of Washington Pike and Vanadium Road, which could further cause traffic delays in the area. The plan to place our “Road Work Ahead” signs at Vanadium Road’s intersections with Washington Pike and Bower Hill Road. They will have eight flaggers and two police officers directing traffic near our work zone in Scott Township. And we have instructed them to allow traffic on the Washington Pike side of Vanadium more time to get through the work zone than on the Bower Hill Roadside. We hope that will help prevent traffic backups all the way to Washington Pike. For questions, please contact 412-350-2451 or brent.wasko@alleghenycounty.us
