Any type of structure intended for swimming, recreational bathing or wading, in-ground, above-ground, on-ground, hot tubs or spas, and inflatable or collapsible pools capable of containing water over 24 inches deep requires a permit and safety barriers. This includes portable and inflatable swimming pools. Installing one of these pools without property safety barriers is very dangerous to neighboring children and can result in drowning.
If you are unsure as to whether or not you need a permit, please contact the Township Codes Office and ask for clarification. Some common building projects that require a permit include:- Home additions- Decks- Garages- Fences- Sheds- Retaining Walls over 4 feet in height- Swimming Pools
