Board of Commissioners Public Hearing - 5:30PM

The Board of Commissioners of Collier Township will hold a public hearing and public meeting to consider adoption of a zoning ordinance text amendment, amending the Collier Township Code of Ordinances, Chapter 27, Part 10, by adding thereto a new Part 10A providing for an R-6 Medium Density Residential Conservation Community District Classification, and rezoning property from the R-1 to the R-6 district, from the R-1 to the SC district, and from the SC to the R-1 zoning districts, said hearing and meeting to be held on Monday, August 22, 2022, with the hearing to commence at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting to commence at 7:00 p.m., both at the Township of Collier Municipal Building, 2418 Hilltop Road, Presto, PA  15142

The title and summary of the proposed Ordinance are as follows:

 An Ordinance of the Township of Collier, Allegheny county, Pennsylvania, amending Chapter Twenty-Seven of the Township of Collier Code of Ordinances to: (1) add a R-6 Medium Density Residential Conservation Community District to the Zoning Ordinance; (2) rezone identified parcels within the R-1 district to the R-6 district; (3)  rezone identified parcels within the R-1 district to the SC district; (4) rezone identified parcels within the SC district to the R-1 district;   (5) amend the official zoning map of the Township; and (6) make such other revisions and amendments as are incidental to and necessitated by adding a R-6 medium density residential conservation community district to the zoning ordinance.

The proposed Ordinance will establish a R-6 Medium Density Residential Conservation Community zoning classification with standards for permitted uses and conditional uses to allow for the development of medium-density single-family and multifamily housing opportunities within a minimum of 100 acres, and will rezone adjacent parcels to ensure compatibility of uses between adjacent zoning districts.

 A copy of the proposed Ordinance may be examined in the office of the Township Secretary, without charge, during regular business hours.
