As of October 15, 2020, Thoms Run Road has been re-open to through traffic and detours have been lifted.
Thoms Run Road in Collier Reopens to Traffic PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that Thoms Run Road has reopened to traffic. It has been closed near Boyds Run Road in Collier Township since September 14, 2020 as part of an ongoing project. The restriction was required for construction of two support walls. During the rest of this month, crews will be installing guide rail on Thoms Run Road at various locations between Forsythe Road and Dutch Hill Road. When that work is occurring, flaggers will be used to control traffic, and drivers can expect to experience short stoppages. Next spring, there will be another closure on Thoms Run Road – near Forsythe Road and Prestley Road – when crews replace a culvert. Public Works will announce the exact start date for that closure nearer to when it is expected to begin. The information will be provided to the public via a press release, Allegheny Alerts, and social media. All homes and businesses on Thoms Run Road will continue to be accessible throughout the project. The work is being done by Northeast Paving, a division of Eurovia Atlantic Coast, LLC, of Pittsburgh, as part of the $10.7 million 2019 Capital Roads contract. # # #
