REMINDER: Stoppages on Part of Thoms Run Road in Collier to Begin MondayProject also involves three upcoming closures PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced that work on Thoms Run Road from Forsythe Road to about 600 feet west of Dutch Hill Road in Collier Township will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020. The work, which includes drainage repairs, base repairs, and milling and paving, will require short stoppages in work zones. Traffic will be controlled using flaggers. The project, which is expected to end in October 2020, will also involve three upcoming closures: • Starting in May, Thoms Run Road will be closed just east of its intersection with K P Hollow Road for a slope repair. Traffic will be detoured using Thoms Run and Oakdale Road, Hilltop Road, and Forsythe Road. • Starting in June, part of the 5100 block of Thoms Run Road will be closed for construction of a retaining wall. Traffic will be detoured using Thoms Run and Oakdale Road, Hilltop Road, and Forsythe Road. • Starting in June, Thoms Run Road will be closed just west of its intersection with Forsythe Road for replacement of Chartiers Creek Bridge No. 23. Traffic will be detoured using Prestley Road, Washington Avenue (Route 50), Millers Run Road (Route 50), and Presto-Sygan Road. The three closures are not expected to overlap. Public Works will announce the exact start dates for the closures closer when they are expected to begin. That information will be provided to the public via a press release, Facebook, Twitter, and Allegheny Alerts. The project is being done by Northeast Paving, a division of Eurovia Atlantic Coast, LLC, of Pittsburgh, as part of the $10.7 million 2019 Capital Roads contract. # # #
